Outdoor Fans

These are my evaluations of some outdoor-rated fans (mostly from around 2020). We connect our fans to outdoor-rated smart plugs so that we can control them by voice.

Pro: Powerful, not too loud, comparatively inexpensive, available in black and in white

Con: Does not rotate, must be mounted

Pro: Huge, wide breeze, rotates

Con: Very loud, both settings are pretty high, GFCI needs to be replaced to use with a remote, must be mounted

Pro: Super powerful, rotates, good balance between power and noise

Con: Very expensive, must be mounted

NewAir Pedestal

Pro: Portable, comes with stand, rotates, nice range of speeds, quiet, comes with misting kit, great for a patio

Con: Built-in GFCI needs to be replaced to use with a remote, stand is prone to rusting if left outdoors

NewAir Floor

Pro: Portable, flexible, intermediate size (18" and 20"), has a floor stand, has a built-in GFCI that resets to on (so can be used with remote)

Con: Silver blades may be more visible

Lasko Pedestal
